Having now listened to Tapiola after a long time I feel strongly, that now Sibb had said everything what was worth saying with the S-motif. I am not familiar with the works after it, if there is any more of S-motif left. But composing a new symphony... there should have been something really new after Tapiola.

"Personality can emerge in five tones. Eternal can live in very simple forms" (JS 1953, Levas, page 369)

S-motif, as the supine letter S means gruppetto, has five tones.
