Peter, I'm thoroughly convinced that art and politics (re: nationalism) make poor bedfellows. When I'm discussing either vis--vis the other, it's usually only to contextualize it in the prevailing Zeitgeist. I fail to comprehend "good vs. bad" in such a context.

I quite agree with you regarding art and politics. Sibelius was however severely tarnished by his alleged affiliation with the Nazi party in Germany and Adorno played a large part in fostering this myth. In my opinion Vesa Siren is nearer the truth--kp
