This arrangement is a combination of the piano pieces Op. 5 no. 5 + no. 6. After this performance, I have mixed feelings about the effectiveness of this version, and indeed about the performance itself. At this point I won't be performing it again any time soon ... that said, here it is in all its naked truth:

I for one enjoyed these two Impromptu's from 1893. Who did the arrangement--kp

They are Sibelius' own arrangement, completed in 1894 a few months after the original piano pieces.

According to Andrew B's book (page 84), they recycle material from the melodrama Svartsjukans nätter
