Leif Segerstam delivered a copy of Sibelius's metronome marking to each of Sibbas symphonies found from the Norweigan Radio. This copy is of course just a "metronome page" but it was sent by Sibelius himself... But the post I will add here later
will shed good light to Sibelius symphonies among us and the others. Bare with me, my family has really recently moved out from the center of Helsinki to surrounding area and all the boxes that have the necessary data are still lying around. As soon as I have the energy we will settle his scores! Leif told me that he was "zipping" through some old score and suddenly this paper dropped to the floor. I think it is absolutely interesting as Sibba himself was anti-metronome but still agreed to post the aproximates.

As a conductor, I have always appreciated the fact that Sibelius was, as you say, "anti-metronome", because it does away with the feeling that I'm doing something "wrong", a feeling I sometimes have when I depart a little too far from Beethoven's markings.

Nonetheless, this metronome page would be very, very interesting to see. Keep us posted!
