Ok, I'm back! After the festival I took a 2-week leave from everything in order to prepare for my orchestra's performance of Bruckner 9th, which took place last night, hence my silence at the forum for the past while.

Special thanks to the "silent members" for posting! Great to finally hear from you!

My single favourite musical memory... as powerful as all the performances of the symphonies were, there was something... poignant about hearing the delicate tones of Kurkikohtaus as the very first sounds at the very first concert.

But what I will take away with me more than anything is meeting so many forum members and UK society members and sharing in the wonderful Lahti atmosphere with them. I work in a lonely profession, so each and every Sibelius friend is very special to me!

I hope your Bruckner 9 went well, Kurki. Geez, I remember you studying the score in the bar is the Seurahuone hotel...!

Yeah, the festival was great on every level. I'm so glad I got to meet you, Andrew and everyone else.

B 9 is a great piece. Maybe due to my bad English I didn`t understand that it was now. Hope that you are happy with the performance.
